Several Vic 20 games have been remade for Windows with improvements that an extra GB of RAM (+/- 3.5KB) and a full colour high resolution display will allow.

A remake of Mastertronic’s Rockman, an excellent Boulderdash type of game with a twist. This remake reimages Rockman as a hamster while the levels remain authentic.

Imagine’s Arcadia was a difficult and fast paced shooter. This remake includes the source code written in Jamagic.

A remake of a simple game, the original name escapes me, but one that inspired me to make the Vic-20 Gamer website as an excuse to explore the Vic’s game catalogue with the hope that one day I’ll come across it again. This remake adds a lot more than the Vic version which had repetitive game play with a maximum of three attackers.

A simple, carbon copy of Mole Attack. Sorry about that.

This is more of an evolution than a remake truth be told. Anyone who had the Vic-20 manual would probably have seen the code listings at the back. One was a game that simply had a missle launcher (a block) at the bottom centre of the screen and a meteor (a very large block) at the top. The meteor would fly horizontally from left to right and get a bit lower each time. Your job was to shoot chunks out if it as it passed by before it ultimately collided with you. The remake expands upon this with many (many) meteors flying down at you. To make things easier (and more interesting) you can move about and have a faster fire rate. I quite like this game for it’s one more go appeal, as it originally appeared on the v-cade with online high scores.

The Vic 20 had some excellent games and Sky Hawk was up there with them. This remake takes the look and feel of the Vic original and pits you against waves of fighter jets.
